Men's Dip
This is a hearty, hot, and spicy dip that's surprisingly complex and deeply satisfying when served with corn chips. The blend of savory, sweet, and spicy elements creates a flavor profile that's far more nuanced than the ingredient list suggests. Resist the urge to omit anything – each component plays a crucial role in the final delicious outcome!

2 hrs
Return the mixture to a simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Continue to simmer for at least 1 hour, or up to 2 hours for a deeper, richer flavor. The longer it simmers, the more the flavors will meld together. (1 to 2 hours)
For an even spicier dip, leave the seeds in one of the jalapeno peppers.
If you don't have blanched slivered almonds, you can use regular slivered almonds. Toast them lightly in a dry pan before adding them to the dip to enhance their flavor.
Taste the dip after it has simmered for an hour and adjust the sugar and salt to your liking. Some people prefer a sweeter dip, while others prefer a more savory one.
This dip is even better the next day, after the flavors have had a chance to meld together completely. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
